How to install your eSIM
Pick your device and how you want to add the eSIM. The quickest is the automatic install from our e-mail; the QR code is the safe route when the e-mail arrives on a different device.

Install method
One tap in the e-mail, on the phone the eSIM is for.
Steps
- 1Open the e-mail we sent you, on the iPhone itself.
- 2Tap Install on iPhone, then Activate in the Activate Your eSIM window.
- 3Wait for Connecting… to finish, tap Continue and let it activate. It takes a few seconds.
- 4When it asks which type of plan you have, choose Data Only — our eSIMs are data. Then Continue and Done.
- 5In Settings → Mobile Service (Cellular), tap the new eSIM. Under Mobile Plan Label you can name it after where you are going.
- 6If Turn On This Line is off, switch it on.
- 7On the same page, turn Data Roaming on (on some iOS versions it is one level down, under Mobile Data Options). Without it there is no connection abroad.
- 8When you land, switch data to the eSIM: Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data → this eSIM. Until then data stays on your home SIM, which is what you want at home.
- 9Leave Default Voice Line on your usual number, so calls and texts keep reaching you there.
If nothing connects when you land: pick the network by hand
A travel eSIM has no network of its own — it roams on local carriers. Your phone usually picks one itself, but when nothing connects a minute after landing, automatic selection is almost always why. Switch it to manual.
- 1Settings → Mobile Service (Cellular) → tap this eSIM.
- 2Network Selection → turn Automatic off.
- 3Wait for the list of carriers to load, then pick one.
- 4If it does not connect, try the next one. Not every local carrier has an agreement with the supplier.
The list is empty for a while after you turn automatic off — the phone scans for what is around first, and that can take half a minute. It is not a fault and it does not mean the eSIM is dead; wait for the networks to appear.
